We just arrived back at our home in Bali after spending a week in Yogyakarta on Java to start the production of our latest design, the 'Purnama' coin purse. We are very excited to launch this new model shortly! For now we would like to show you a short photo story with pictures we took this last week, to give you the opportunity to have a look at our 'kitchen'. You'll meet mrs. Tuty, who leads the production of all our designs in Yogyakarta, mr. Simbah, who works on the Purnama sample until it is perfect, mr. Tono, mrs. Yanti and mr. Mendi, who will each work on different parts of the Purnama coin purse when the production starts and ourselves (Cecile & Angga).
Angga, mrs. Tuty and Simbah discussing the design for 'Purnama'.
Simbah is the oldest in our work place (that's why he was given the nickname 'Simbah', which means grandfather in Javanese). He has worked with leather ever since he graduated from the Acandemy of leather craft in Yogyakarta in 1984, and is still extremely passionate about it.
Mrs. Tuty leads and coordinates the production of our bags and wallets. Even though she doesn't make them herself, she is very involved in the process.
Mr. Tono and Mrs. Yanti. Their love for leather craft brought them together and they have now been married for over 20 years. Mr. Tono was in the same class as Simbah at the Academy, so they have been working together for a very long time.
Simbah explains us about the process of leather thinning.
Mr. Mendi will just like Mrs. Yanti and Mr. Tono be working on the production of the Purnama coin purse once the samples are finished.
Feel free e-mail us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or suggestions for/about First of June! And don't forget to subscribe to our news letter HERE to be the first to know when we launch the Purnama coin purse!
